Josh Stepherson is the founder and principal of Stepherson & Associates Communications.

For more than 17 years, Josh has engaged communities, key stakeholder groups and civic leaders around high profile and sometimes controversial issues and projects. He has a history of proactive project management that results in first-rate public involvement outcomes provided on time and within budget. Josh understands the importance of informing and engaging the public and specific stakeholder groups while at the same time keeping projects moving forward.

Kristin Anderson

For 13 years Kristin has worked on behalf of public sector clients throughout Puget Sound, creating and implementing engagement strategies that keep groups focused and projects moving forward. She is a tested project manager who has led outreach efforts for numerous land use, natural resources, water, transportation and public utilities projects and for processes ranging from visioning and planning to design and construction. Inspired by collaborative efforts that improve our communities, Kristin is also an accomplished facilitator who helps participants identify common goals, build respectful working relationships, and reach consensus.

Natalie Graves

Natalie Graves has nine years’ experience in community outreach and stakeholder engagement with local and state projects. Her work spans multiple sectors and includes leading outreach efforts for a major state transportation project, stakeholder engagement with the Port of Seattle, and communicating complex environmental issues to communities across Washington state. Natalie excels at translating highly technical information into approachable and easy-to-understand content for the public. Always thinking ahead, Natalie has strong planning skills and attention to detail that have led to a multitude of successful community events, open houses, and stakeholder briefings. Natalie values individual interactions with community members, whether a personal phone call or door-to-door visit; she is eager to hear the public’s input and use it to shape a project.

Bob Derry

Bob's background in communications, commitment to public participation, and longtime interest in public infrastructure have supported his work at S&A since 2007 and previously as a technical consultant on projects affecting Seattle’s neighborhoods. He has worked with the City of Seattle to secure pedestrian friendly, transit-oriented zoning changes, has drafted and successfully advocated for an amendment to the Seattle Comprehensive Plan, and is the author of creative legislative zoning changes. At S&A, he has led construction communications and outreach efforts for a host of transportation projects.

Michelle Huynh

For over 10 years, Michelle has worked with non-profit organizations, government entities and businesses to craft messages and equitably engage with communities. At S&A, where she has led outreach efforts for large transportation and master plan development projects, she leverages her varied experience to ensure a targeted and effective approach to achieving client goals. She brings a depth of experience in developing inclusive public involvement plans, producing project materials, and directing planning and implementation for successful community engagement events across the Puget Sound region.

Lynn Pasley

Over her long career, Lynn has been an indispensable design team member for creative studios, print shops and corporate in-house creative departments. Her portfolio reflects in-depth experience producing print, web and social media projects for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies. Lynn has excellent design sensibilities and a discriminating eye for detail and typographic excellence. As the S&A senior graphic designer, Lynn is well versed in client brand standards and creates attractive and easily understood infographics, websites, mailers, brochures, fact sheets, display boards, presentations, and more.

Colleen Toomey

Colleen has a background in public administration and eight years of communications experience serving primarily public institutions and economic development organizations. She has extensive experience developing robust communications and engagement plans, creating communications materials, planning and implementing events, and engaging stakeholders. Colleen is an agile writer and adept storyteller who can translate technical and scientific information into compelling narratives for diverse audiences. A devoted Seattleite, she is passionate about creating thriving neighborhoods and communities built on inclusivity and equity.

Marjorie Skotheim

Marjorie brings to Stepherson & Associates extensive experience in communications and public affairs gained in government, political, and agency settings. Her sensitivity to language and strategic objectives, in addition to exceptional skills as a writer and editor, give her a role in the development of messaging and materials for all our clients. In addition to enthusiasm for projects that benefit Seattle (where her family roots go back a century) and for the value added to them by public participation, Marjorie offers strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

Peter Kitchen

With a background in public administration, public relations and state government, Peter brings over six years of communications and community outreach experience. He is skilled at developing communications plans and materials, drafting and conducting surveys and reporting results, and building positive relationships with stakeholders. Peter manages outreach for several neighborhood improvement projects, for which he regularly drafts notices and web updates, conducts door-to-door outreach, and manages correspondence. He also supports communications and outreach efforts for major, multi-year infrastructure projects. A transplant from Oregon by way of Washington DC, Peter loves working on projects that make his adopted home a more livable, vibrant community.

Cayla Ravancho

Cayla brings five years’ experience offering public relations, strategic communications, community outreach, event planning, and social media management services to Washington state firms and organizations. A background in intercultural communication and commitment to inclusive outreach inform her work with S&A, where she supports outreach and communications efforts for large, multi-year infrastructure projects in addition to managing outreach for neighborhood improvement projects. Cayla’s attention to detail and strong implementation skills ensure quality products, successful events, and positive relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners.

Alexis Lorenz

With a background in community engagement and planning, Alexis supports outreach efforts on transportation and other public infrastructure projects. A born communicator, she builds positive relationships between projects and the public they serve and has extensive experience developing materials, planning and implementing events and surveys, and conducting door-to-door outreach. Alexis’ past experience working with non-profits and community groups has enriched her understanding of public sector inclusive outreach guidelines and informed her work developing event plans and on-the-ground outreach tactics that reach broad and diverse audiences.

Maggie Mae, Welcoming Committee
