Project description:

The Bothell-SnoKing Reconductoring Project, a joint effort of Seattle City Light, the Bonneville Power Administration, and Puget Sound Energy, improved the reliability of the regional electrical system. Work involved removing and replacing transmission wires and repairing tower infrastructure. These improvements reduced the risk of regionwide power outages and are allowing electricity to flow more efficiently throughout Puget Sound.

Results:

S&A led outreach and public involvement during pre-construction and construction. To keep project area communities apprised of construction activities, impacts, and schedule, we planned and implemented a pre-construction open house; developed notices and flyers; conducted door-to-door outreach; staffed a drop-in construction office; and managed the project website. We also managed correspondence and a 24/7 phone line to handle community members’ questions and concerns throughout the project.
