Project Description:

The Neighborhood Street Fund (NSF) is a City of Seattle program that makes community-identified transportation improvements. For the NSF 2016-2018 program, S&A supported public involvement and community outreach for 10 projects across the city, from design through construction. The projects varied in size and type and included sidewalk repair, pedestrian lighting, bike safety improvements, and festival streets.

Results:

The S&A NSF team successfully managed and conducted an inclusive outreach effort that informed, involved, and consulted with residents, businesses, advocates, and other stakeholders throughout design and construction. By the numbers, the project included:

  • 10 public involvement plans and 1 NSF programmatic plan
  • 8 drop-in events and 14 community meetings
  • 75+ outreach print materials, translated in up to 6 languages
  • Door-to-door outreach to over 1,000 residences and businesses
  • 40+ website updates
